Best Practices Conference Hotel/Travel Information

To reserve your hotel room: You may reserve your hotel room now through April 9th for the 2018 Best Practices Conference.  You may call  the Renaissance at 800‐468‐3571 and ask for the Professional Developers of Iowa room block to receive the  discounted rate of $134 per night (single or double suite).  Reservations are available for the nights of April 30,  May 1, May 2, and May 3. 


Transportation:  To and from the Airport:  The Hotel Shuttle is available upon request.  The shuttle is complimentary and  available Monday‐Sunday from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.  Call 515‐244‐2151 to make prior arrangements.  Taxi  service is available with an estimated fare of $12.00. 

Around Des Moines:  The Hotel Shuttle is available upon request.  Uber and Lyft services are also available in Des Moines.    Parking:    Hotel parking is valet only for a fee of $25 daily, with in and out privileges.  For self‐parking, you may use the 4th and Grand Avenue ramp, located across the street from the hotel, for a fee up to $10 per day (re-sets upon exit)

Online registration will be available through Wednesday, April 24th. After April 24th, registrations will be processed onsite only with an additional $100 fee.

PDI & Mid‐America EDC: 
Full Conference (May 1, 2 & 3): 
Members: $385 
Non‐Members: $485 Includes both days for Best Practice Conference & SMART Conference. PDI members use Registration Code:  PDI2018 to receive member pricing. ED Volunteers (such as elected officials, community board members, anyone  not employed as an ED professional) use Registration Code: VOL2018 to receive member rate. 

Mid‐America EDC New Membership & Full  Conference Registration Package:

New Iowa Members Only: $535  Since Iowa is hosting this year’s conference, Iowans will receive a discounted rate on Mid‐America EDC 2018  membership when you bundle your new membership with the Full Conference registration. This is a savings of  $150, so join Mid‐America EDC today!

$0.00 Complimentary  PDI Annual Sponsors: Contact Lynn Harkin (director@pdiowa.com) to receive your sponsorship registration code  and instructions prior to registering one representative from your organization. 

Mid‐America EDC & Best Practices Conference Sponsors:  
If you are an established Mid‐America EDC or Best Practices Conference sponsor receiving a complimentary registration as a sponsor benefit, you may register online. Your primary sponsorship contact will be sent an email with a Registration Code and the following instructions. Once you have the code you can register online by selecting the SPONSOR registration option. You will then be asked for the registration code sent to your organization's contact. Once you enter the code, you will then enter your registration information and click next. You will then be asked to review and confirm your information. If everything is correct, select "Confirm" and your registration will be submitted without any payment due. 

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations received by or on April 24, 2018 will receive a full refund, less a $50 administrative fee. Cancellations  received after April 24, 2018 (or no-shows at the conference) are nonrefundable. All cancellation notices must be emailed to the Mid-America EDC office to karla@assnoffices.com.
