Lake Ozark, MO (June 10, 2015) –Gordon Ipson, CEcD, FM, Manager, Economic Development , Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative, Palmyra, MO was named by the Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) as the 2015 Affiliate Member of the Year. This prestigious award is presented to an MEDC member who has made significant contributions in the field of community-based economic development but whose primary job duty is not community based economic development and may work in job training, utilities, education or research.
“Gordon’s passion for rural economic development is clearly demonstrated by simply engaging with Gordon and discussing the challenges that small towns face. Nothing would make Gordon happier than seeing a rural part of the state win an economic development project to create jobs for Missourians,” said Subash Alias, Senior Vice President, Missouri Partnership.
Mr. Ipson has been the Manager, Economic Development, Northeast Missouri Electric Power Cooperative since 2006. In addition, Gordon has held a variety of positions during his career including in Missouri, Iowa, Indiana and Nebraska.
“Gordon’s leadership on the MEDC Professional and Volunteer Education Committee over the years has provided a valuable resource to both the MEDC membership and to the important volunteer board members who are better at what they do because of Gordon’s commitment to our profession,” said John Engelmann, CEcD, President of MEDC.
