10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Departs from Madrid Trailhead
Join fellow conference attendees for a scenic, social ride on one of Iowa’s most iconic trails! This 12-mile round-trip ride departs from Madrid at 10:00 AM and heads west toward Woodward, featuring a stop for lunch in Woodward and photo ops on the High Trestle Bridge. Known for its breathtaking views and striking design, the bridge is a must-see highlight of the trail. The group will return to Madrid by 2:00 PM.
Need a bike? Rentals are available at The Thirsty Pigs Bike Shop in Madrid:
- Hybrid Bike (4 hours): $50
- E-Bike (limited availability): $75
- Premium Bike (4 hours): $65
Whether you're a casual rider or cycling enthusiast, this is a perfect way to experience the trail, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with other attendees.

Tour Option #1: John Deere Des Moines Works Tour
Location: John Deere Des Moines Works, Ankeny
Get a behind-the-scenes look at one of the region’s most iconic manufacturers during this immersive experience and guided tour of John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny. This facility plays a vital role in John Deere’s global operations, producing cutting-edge agricultural equipment used around the world. Unlike any other John Deere factory this site supports the full crop production cycle—from ground prep to planting, spraying, and harvesting with the manufacturing of application, cotton harvesting, grain drill, and tillage equipment. Attendees will gain insight into advanced manufacturing processes, innovation in ag technology, and compete with their peers at welding using virtual reality before visiting the Deere employee store where attendees can purchase Deere apparel and items not found anywhere else. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience a cornerstone of Iowa industry up close. The tour will include time outdoors, please plan accordingly. Safety gear will be provided; closed-toe shoes and pants are required – no exceptions. Government-issued ID is required for entry and advance registration is required due to security protocols.
