Life Member
“A Life Member shall be a former Member retired from the profession and recognized by PDI for previous contributions to the organization and profession. They will not pay dues and will not have voting rights or hold office.”
Life Member Status
Life Member Status may be conferred by the Board of Directors upon a former member in good standing who is retired from the profession, has served on the PDI Board of Directors, has demonstrated active PDI committee membership, and, in the determination of the Board, meets one or more of the following qualifications:
- Was involved in the betterment/advancement of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership in allied development organizations (IEDC, MAEDC, IDRC, etc.)
- Demonstrated active leadership in the promotion and strengthening of economic development as a profession.
When possible, Life Member Status will be conferred during a PDI Conference with the recipient in attendance. A written request from a current PDI member must be submitted stating the request and qualifications. The Board of Directors will review recommendations from the general membership for Life Member status at the August board meeting each year.
